The European tertiary education cooperation programme provides students with the opportunity to complete part of their academic obligations or practical training in one of the participating countries. Only students whose parent institution participates in the Erasmus+ programme (the institution has obtained the relevant Erasmus University Charter and obtained funding for individual mobilities on a national call) are eligible for the activity.
The objectives of student mobility for study purposes are:
- to enable students to gain educational, linguistic and cultural experience from their studies in one of the participating countries;
- to foster cooperation between the institutions of the tertiary education sector and to enrich the educational environment;
- to contribute to the development of a group of highly qualified, widely regarded and internationally experienced young individuals, future professionals;
- to facilitate the ECTS transfer and the recognition of completed obligations abroad by using ECTS or a compatible system.
The objective of student mobility for traineeships is to spend a period of time in a company or similar organisation in another participating country, in order for the individual to adapt to the needs of the new European labour market, to acquire specific skills and improve understanding of the host country's economic and social culture. Erasmus+ traineeship abroad must be relevant to the field of study.
