The Novo mesto School of Business and Management was involved in the project on the exchange of innovative English language teaching methods at vocational and technical schools, which lasted from 1 August 2011 to 31 July 2013. Turkey, Italy, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland and Portugal were also involved in the project in addition to Slovenia. The schools which acted as project partners are mostly engaged in tourism management.
The project's strategy and goals are as follows:
- Promoting methods of teaching professional English in countries where English is not the first language;
- Examining innovative methods of teaching professional English in the partner countries;
- Development of established and approved procedures for gaining training experience abroad;
- Exchange of good practices among teachers.
The purpose of the project is therefore to find new ways of teaching and to exchange them between the partner countries. The project will enable teachers and other stakeholders to learn about new methods of teaching professional English, didactic strategies and interdisciplinary techniques, through which they can raise the quality of teaching.
